Happy Build YC-QC009-2 Coco Colo truck

Hello and welcome back to Its-Not-Lego, my blog about the latest alternate Lego building sets that I've added to my collection.

Today, I'll be looking at the 302 piece Coco Colo truck building set by Happy Build.  The set number is YC-QC009-2.  Coco Colo is obviously a take on Coca Cola and the logos are identical.  From a distance, you might not notice the difference in the spelling.  

As part of this set, there is a sticker sheet, an instruction booklet and one minifigure.   Pictured above is the back of the instruction manual.  As you can see from the manual, there are four different trucks that come in the series.   

I bought all four trucks from Aliexpress and will review the other trucks in the near future.  

The 302 pieces of this set are split between six bags.

Normally, I don't like to apply stickers to my building sets, but I made an exception in this case because this truck would look pretty boring without the logos on it.  Those logos don't show up in sticker sheet above, because the of the white lettering.

I built the truck following the instructions, but then I decided I didn't want all the stuff on the roof, so I went into my brick stash and found some smooth tiles to cover the roof of the truck.

I made some slight modifications to the side panels as well.

The Coco Colo truck has a vending machine built into the rear of the truck.

Here's the minifigure that comes with the set.

Good clutch on the bricks means my side panels will stay in the up position.

I designed my roof so that it could be removed to store stuff inside the truck.

The giant bottle was originally supposed to go on the roof of the truck, but I think I will keep it as a separate display piece.  I made a Coco Colo sign and flag from the provided stickers, they aren't part of the original set design.  Neither is the girl minifigure, she doesn't come with the set either.

I like how the vending machine turned out because of the stickers.

I thought that the vending machine on the rear of the truck looked so good, I wanted it as a stand alone display piece.  In its place I substituted a lift up panel door.

This truck set is hard to find on Aliexpress, so the way I search for it, is via the piece count which is 1197pcs.   This will bring up a few of the listings you see in the picture above.   You can buy only the ones you want or the entire set of four.

Garbage Truck MOC C5333 (Lego Ideas Garbage Truck)

Last month, I bought this garbage truck MOC set from the BuildMoc store on Aliexpress.  

This MOC is based on the Mochi Master designed garbage truck that was submitted to Lego Ideas back in 2019.  Two years later, Lego has yet to produce this truck.   Here's the Lego Ideas submission:  https://ideas.lego.com/projects/7d7f4e15-55e7-44c4-bb30-3a66b9cc0598.

I just finished building it and I just want to say that this set disappointed.  Don't get me wrong, the original design of the mechanism that pick up the garbage cans and empties them into the truck is excellent.  It's just that this MOC set used some really bad quality bricks.

This truck is really cool in that you can twist a knob on the side of the truck and the mechanism arms will grab the garbage can to lift and dump the contents into the truck.  There is another knob that is used to push the collected refuse into the rear bin.  That bin is hinged so you can then unload it by lifting it up.

Pictured above is the truck using not Lego bricks.  The set comes as shown with three garbage cans and some assorted bones and 1x1 circular pieces.  After I completed the build, there were 2 extra pieces left over.

The instructions are in booklet form.  As you can see on the cover, the set is designated as C5333 and has 379 pieces in total. As this is a MOC set, there is no branding associated with it.

There are eight bags of parts, six of them are numbered plus one bag of tires and one bag of transparent pieces.

The issues I have with this truck:

The garbage truck has three main colours, green, white and light grey.  The white bricks were somewhat yellowed.  The light grey bricks had some yellowing as well. The green bricks had different shades of green depending on the part, although hopefully not as noticeable in my pictures.

Some of the technic pins and pieces are lacking clutch and tend to fall off (see second pic above).  If I get the pieces to stay on the mechanism to unload the garbage can works fine.

Also, the wheels on the garbage truck do not turn at all.  The problem seems to be with the protrusion going into the back of the rim, it's too tight.

Lastly, there is no interior in the cab of the garbage truck.   

I saw on Aliexpress that the Xingbao brand also has a garbage truck.  I think it's set uses the same unloading mechanism in their truck.  The set is listed as XB-18017 and has 550 pieces.  This model seems to be a bit more detailed and probably the bricks used would be better quality than the C5333 MOC.

If you are thinking of getting this garbage truck MOC, hopefully your set will be better than mine.  I would only recommend it, if you have replacement parts to fix the deficiencies.

Hsanhe 6853 Not Lego Tanker Truck Set Review

Hey boot Lego fans!  Welcome back to Its Not Lego.  I finally got a Hsanhe tanker truck to go with my Lepin Gas Station 02047.  This set number is 6853 and consists of 250 pieces.  It's my first Hsanhe set that isn't a modular building. I guess they are branching out with their set offerings.

This tanker truck bears a striking similarity to the Lego City Tanker truck 60016, especially in style and colour scheme, but I discovered after building the Hsanhe version, the pieces that make up the tank differ from the Lego version.  

I got my set from Aliexpress and it arrived in about 3 weeks.   The instructions to build the tanker truck are printed on a large two sided folded sheet.

There are five bags of parts and a small sticker sheet, but nary an Octan logo to be found.

Time to start building!

And here's the finished product.  The clutch on the bricks is excellent.  This thing feels solid.  

This near copy of the Lego set even includes a gas pump but the Lego version has a wheel on the pump where it's been replaced by what looks to be a fire extinguisher in the Hsanhe set.  

I'm not really impressed with the minifigure.  The leg portion doesn't match the body.  That's probably why the minifig is scowling.  Of all the Hsanhe sets I've built, this is the worst minifigure.

Another peeve of mine is tanker cab's cloudy windshield.

No issues though with the rear of the truck and attached ladder.

On the Lego tank truck there's a hose and spool on the left side, but  on the Hsanhe version it's been replaced by a storage compartment.

Also the last difference is that the Lego truck has white coloured mirrors vs the Hsanhe silver mirrors.

The Hsanhe tanker truck is a nice addition to my Its-Not-Lego town.  It's a solid build and looks great.  The misses are the cloudy windshield and the sad looking minifigure.   Thanks for visiting and see you next time!

My Collection of Not Lego Buses in 2019

Hey There!  Here's a quick look at my Not Lego bus collection.  Using public transit in Its-Not-Lego town has never been easier.  You have your choice of buses made by Sluban, Wange, and Enlighten.

The first ever bus in my not lego collection was from the  Sluban set M38-B0333 Middle School Set.  The 500 piece set consisted of a school building and the school bus.
The bus was subsequently released on it's own as Sluban set M38-B0507.  The bus has 219 pieces.  There were stickers that came with the set but I didn't apply them to the bus.

Next up is the bus by Wange, set number is 30132.  The bus is comprised of 318 pieces.  I modified this bus slightly to lower the bus height.  I felt that the original bus height was a bit too tall.   This small bus is the Main street complimentary shuttle.

Here's another Sluban bus.  The set is M38-B0330 and has 235 pieces  This is another bus that I'ved modified, this time I increased it in length.  This is a long distance bus used to reach other towns.

 I used some extra white bricks and the Sluban M38-B0330 instructions to make this MOC bus.  I haven't figured out how to use this bus but I may change the colours on it to make it a special police bus.

Here's a double decker bus by Sluban, model is M38-B0331.  There's 403 pieces in this set.  It includes extra bricks to build a mini gas station.  This is the main bus that goes around Its-Not-Lego town. The problem with the design is that you can't remove the roof or top level to access the interior.  It's on my list of things to fix on this set.

Finally for visitors who come to do some sightseeing around town, there's the Enlighten brand Sightseeing bus 1123.  At 455 pieces, this is the largest bus in my collection.  Unlike all my other buses that are six studs wide, this bus is eight studs wide, so it doesn't really match.  My plan is to rebuild it as a six stud bus.  I also plan to change the really weird looking front windshield.

There's just one more bus on my wish list ... that would be the Lepin 02078 city bus. I've ordered it from Aliexpress, but not sure if it's available anymore. I'll let you all know if I get it or not.   Let me know which one is your favorite bus?   See you next time!

Hi again and welcome back to Its-Not-Lego.  Here's a new model we haven't seen before.  It's the SWAT Water Cannon Truck by Sembo Blocks.

The set number is 102408 and is part of the Sembo Black Hawk series of military style back ops vehicles.  Below are a few of the other vehicles found in the Sembo Black Hawk series.

The Sembo Swat Water Cannon truck building set is made up of 503 pieces, over 12 bags of parts.  The  bags of parts aren't sorted or organized in any fashion, so you have to rip all the bags open to find the right parts as you are building the set.  It also doesn't help that the majority of the parts are black in colour.

The Minifigures

Let's take a closer look at the four minifigures that come with the Water Cannon truck.

This is how they look after assembly.  There are 2 SWAT team members and 2 guys with questionable intent.   The SWAT guys have a black hawk logo emblazoned on their shirts.

Here's the backside printing on the Lego style minifigures.  No confusion here on who are the SWAT guys.

 Bonus, you get heads with dual faces on each of the minifigures.  Here they are with their passive faces.

Of special note is that one of the SWAT minifigures has an interesting 2 piece arm design used to separate the bare arms from the shirt sleeves.  Once attached his arms kind of resemble Popeye's forearms. Unfortunately this unique design doesn't afford any extra mobility or flexibility on the arms like the Xingbao style minifigures.

The Water Cannon Truck

Ok, time to build this thing.  As I mentioned earlier, the brick parts aren't sorted in any order amongst the 12 bags, so I had to rip them all open to get at everything.

Upon checking out the block pieces, I found them to be very similar to Megablox, so they are not as good as Lepin.  There were a lot of the pieces were scratched and the clear window/windshield pieces were dull and cloudy.  Here's a couple of pictures during the construction.

It immediately became clear that this vehicle was massive.  It's in a much larger scale as other Lego type vehicles.  I can pretty much say this truck is original in design and not bootlegged from any existing or retired Lego set.

And here's the completed truck riding on it's oversized tires.  It's got a mad max sort of vibe going for it, with the bars on the front and side.   The beige gear on the right side of the truck controls the rotation of the turret on top.  Although there's ample storage boxes located on the truck, six of them, there weren't any extra accessories to go into them.

This is the front view of the truck.  There's two water guns attached to the front.  The only missing piece I encountered is on the front grill.  I only got 3 pieces instead of 4.  I've got a spare one in my stash, so not a big deal.  The truck is equipped with side mirrors and windshield wipers.

Despite it's large size, the truck only has room for 2 minifigures.  The cab has opening doors, but it's not easier to place the minifigures through them.

 It's easier to take off the roof panel for egress.

The water guns on top of the turret both pivot up and down.

Here's a top view of the Water Cannon truck.  When not in use the extendable water gun tucks neatly into the back of the truck.

To get at the water gun, you flip up the two panels.

The water gun can be extended and rotated 360 degrees.

When not blasting down anti-government demonstrators, the water cannon truck can also be used for fighting fires.

Almost forgot to mention that in the back of the truck, there is a panel that be opened to access 2 black fire extinguishers (not very noticeable due to their colour).

Here's a look at the accessories and spare parts that came with the set.  Oy, yet another brick separator tool to add to my ever growing collection.

As always, I didn't apply any of the stickers that came with the set.

The truck rolls well and is quite sturdy.  Added to the fact it has a lot of play value, this truck would make a nice addition to anyone's brick collection.  The only cons of this set is that some of the brick pieces are scratched and the windows are dull.  The minifigure printing is very high quality.   Thanks for looking, see you next time!
