Lepin 15011 Not Lego Detective's Office Set Review - Part Three

Here is my final blog post regarding the Lepin 15011 Detective's Office modular building set.  We will finish the third and final floor today.  According to the Lepin instructions, it will take us 45 steps to complete the third floor and roof assemblies for this modular.

Step 10.

Here's the base plate setup for the third floor after ten steps.  There are openings for the stairwell and skylight.

Step 20.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
In step 20. we finish off the small kitchen on the third floor and add railings to the stair case.  As with the second floor, the third floor is composed of two shades of light and medium blue bricks.

Inside the kitchen, there is a cabinet with two fake drawers (not the opening kind, sorry).  We also find a small 4 burner stove.  Additionally, there are two round tables. One with a mixing bowl and another with some cookies on a tray.  Above the stove is a small ledge and rolling pin.

The hinge is broken on the stove's transparent door.  Unfortunately, I don't have a spare piece like this one in my brick stash, so I will have to make do.

Here's the side view of the third floor.

I've now added the third floor to the detective's office  and will continue building from here.

Step 30.

Here are some pictures of the completed third floor.

In step 40, we added the skylight, the water tower and cornices over the second floor.

All done!  Looking downwards from above.

I really like the varied details of the roof lines.   Here's a look at the third floor roof.

 Just a few more pictures...

Here's barber Al and the police officer.  I changed the police minifigure's head, wanted to give him a tougher demeanor.  Oh, and there's that giant tiger cub again.  He should have been a small cat.

I was lucky that there were no missing or deformed pieces.  The only problem was the swivel chair base, which I've replaced now.   I only wish they had made a bedroom for the detective, because they could have built it above the office.

Lepin 15011 Not Lego Detective's Office Set Review - Part Two

Hello, welcome back to http://its-not-lego.blogspot.com.  This post is a continues building of the Lepin 15011 Detective's Office bootleg Lego Set.   This post will focus on the second floor.  If you want to see the first floor build, go here.  I am following the Lepin instruction manual and trying  to document with pictures the progression of building the Detective's Office.

Step 20.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

After the first 20 steps of building the second floor, we now have the upper stairwell and bathroom constructed.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Here's the side view of what we have accomplished so far.  The small bathroom has an angled doorway, a toilet and sink.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Back view.  Walls up, but no windows yet.

Step 30.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

Here we are on step 30.  Got some furniture delivered even before the detective's office is completed.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
The mysterious lady in red shows up early for her appointment.  Guess she can keep the file cabinet company.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
There are now windows on the bathroom side of the second floor.

Step 40.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
The second floor of the detective's Office is now substantially complete after step 40 of the Lepin instruction manual.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Walls and windows added to the remainder of the second floor.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
More importantly, the Detective's office is now fully furnished with a desk, a hat rack, a fan and some pictures on the wall.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Due to the tight space, it's hard to show what the inside of the office looks like.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
I like the outside window detailing that says "Ace Brickman Private Detective".

Step 44.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

Here are pictures of the Detective's Office completed second floor.   Want to point out the giant tiger cub that I got with the Lepin set.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
I think the police are responding to reports of a giant tiger club wandering around.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Look, there it is, in front of Al's barber shop.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
I tried to get a few more shots of the inside of the Detective's office on the second floor.

Lepin 15011 Not Lego Detective's Office Set Review - Part One

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

This week, I added a new modular building to my ever growing Lepin town, the Detective's Office set number 15011.   This post will look at the construction of the first floor of this set.  I will take pictures of the build after completing every ten steps from the instruction manual.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Here's the cover art which Lepin has copied directly from Lego.  The Lepin set has 2262 pieces which is the same as the Lego version.

Step 10.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

The Lepin Detective's Office comes with a 32x32 stud brown baseplate.  The Lepin baseplate is thicker than the original Lego version. The sidewalk tiles have been laid and the pool hall is getting built around the little pool table.

*** http://its-not-lego.blogspot.com ***

Step 20.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
The pool hall walls are up and the doors and windows are going in.  The ceiling fan above the pool table is a cool feature.  You can even swing it aside, if you want.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

Here's a closer look at the ceiling fan.  It has a light fixture underneath it.  From this view, you can see the trophy case and also the dart board.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

You can access the pool hall by either the front or back door.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
The pool table accessories include three pool cues and even a rake.  The pool hall is a good size and you could probably fit quite a few minifigs into it.

Step 27.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Here are the printed front windows.  They are only slightly scratched, but you can't really tell.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Nothing much has changed at the rear of the building.

Step 32.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
The floor tile for the barber shop has been laid.

Step 40.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
The barber shop walls are going up and some of the furniture is going in.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Here's the back of the barber shop.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
The cabinet on the rear wall has a secret exit out the back if you push it aside.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Next to the sink and under the folding staircase, there is another trap door.   This is where they smuggle the barrels underneath the outside passageway.

*** http://its-not-lego.blogspot.com ***

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

I was expecting the mirror to be all scratched up, but it came with a film on the reflective side of the piece which protected it's finish.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
At this point, I'd like to point out that the two piece tile that rotates the barber chair is defective. It is too loose and therefore the chair does not stay in place.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

Either the hole is too big on the plate, or the pin of the round tile is too small.  I have a few of these pieces in my brick stash so I will be replacing it in the near future.

Step 50.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
Here's the front facade of the pool hall and barber shop after completing step 50.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
A closer look at the hair pieces inside the barber shop.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
The side view of the barber shop.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office

The first floor is almost completed.  You get six minifigures with this set, but I've only pictured four of them here.  From left to right, you get a police woman figure, the mysterious lady in red, the detective and a pool hall patron.  Not pictured is another pool hall patron figure and the barber.

Step 57.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
The first floor of the Detective's Office is now completed.  The barber shop is finished off with the barber pole and the Al's signage.

its-not-lego.blogspot.com, lepin 15011 detectives office
For busy days at the barber shop, there is a small bench for customers to sit and wait.

Now that the first floor is complete, we can move on to the second floor of the Detective's Office.  Post coming soon to http://its-not-lego.blogspot.com.
