Gudi 9306 Not Lego Police Pickup Truck Set Review

Today's set review is the Gudi 9306 Police Pickup set.  It comes with a police offroad vehicle and a policeman minifigure.  There are 84 pieces in this set.

Here's how the contents of my package. It has two bags, one manual and one sticker sheet.

The police man minifigure already came assembled so all I had to do was put together was the police truck.

The bricks are comparable to Lego quality and I didn't have any missing pieces from the set.

The build design was not as sophisticated as Lego builds.  There were a lot of same pieces to be stuck together, especially the pieces making up the truck chassis.

I find the truck to be a bit on the narrow side.  I think it would have looked better if it was six studs wide instead of 4 studs.

I only paid $3.60 USD for this set, but I wouldn't pay any more for this set. It's not really that special.

Sluban M38-B0563 Not Lego Scooter Courier Set Review

At 28 pieces, this is probably the smallest building set that Sluban puts out.  Set M38-B0563 basically has one minifigure and one scooter and that's it.  The price of this fancy set is a whopping $1.52 USD shipped for free.  The postage probably costs more than this set.

My set arrived in a small plastic bag.  Inside was another transparent bag with the parts, instruction sheet and stickers.  I've been pretty pleased with the quality of the recent Sluban building sets. Clutch is good and the bricks look to be clean.

The Sluban delivery guy looks happy to be freed from all that plastic.

This guy looks like he's having too much fun.  I like that the Sluban minifigures can be easily posable, including their heads.

Ok quit smiling, we're not gonna pay you that much.

Almost forgot to show you the sticker sheet.  One of the packages he would be delivering is the Sluban M38-B0555 construction crane set!

Daiso LED Lights for Lego compatible sets

The last time I was in Japan, I visited the large 108 yen store called Daiso in the trendy neighbourhood of Harajuku.  It's located right on Takeshita Dori not far from Harajuku Station.

They sell Battery operated LED Decoration Lights for 108 yen.  They come in 2 colours;  White and Colorful Mix.  They also come in 2 different modes, Flashing and non Flashing.  I picked up the Flashing White LED package and the Non-Flashing Color LED package.  The White version only come with 8 lights whereas the Colorful one comes with 10 lights.  

After you remove the light string from the package, you have to install two AA batteries into the battery pack.  On top of the battery pack, there is a black on/off switch.   I switched on the light string and this is the result.  There are 4 different colours in this string:  Yellow, Red, Green and Blue.

There was sufficient lights for me to light the second and third floors of my modified Lepin Cafe Corner modular building.  The wires are long enough that I can place the battery pack outside the building and feed the LED string into the second floor balcony door.  I added some 1x2 plates with hooks to hold the light string in place on the second floor, then I ran the remainder of the LED string up the stairwell into the third floor and placed the remaining lights next to the windows.

Here I've opened the packaging for the White LED lights and installed the batteries.

Here's the modded Lepin Cafe Corner modular with LED lights on all 3 floors.

So, the two LED light strings cost me a total of 216 yen which is around $2 USD.  For that low price I can light up 3 floors of my Lepin Cafe Corner modular building.
